Alex Bosland will patrol the blue line for Powell River Kings during the upcoming BC Hockey League campaign.

Powell River Kings added to the defensive corps for the 2023/2024 BC Hockey League (BCHL) season with the signing of Alex Bosland.

The 18-year-old from Basking Ridge, New Jersey, is committed to play NCAA hockey at University of Maine. During the 2022/2023 hockey season, Bosland played at Mount Saint Charles Academy in Rhode Island, where in 54 games at the U18 AAA level he scored six goals and 23 assists.

“We are really happy that Alex has decided to play for the Kings this upcoming season,” said Powell River general manager Chad van Diemen. “He has a lot of great attributes as a player on and off the ice and will push his teammates every day to be better. We look forward to helping him develop daily to prepare for NCAA hockey at the University of Maine.”

Bosland becomes the third blueliner on the Kings roster for next season who has an NCAA commitment, joining Sam Belanger (Lake Superior State) and Will Jones (Air Force).
