After taking turns playing with one goal leads through the first 40 minutes, Nanaimo Clippers took control of a BC Hockey League (BCHL) game at Hap Parker Arena on Friday, November 26, with a pair of power play goals in the third period.

Casey Aman opened the scoring early in the first period for the home team, and Sam Schoenfeld did the same in the second period for the Kings, who trailed 3-2 at intermission. Jack Blanchett briefly knotted the score at three midway through the third period, prior to the Clippers’ taking advantage with the extra skater to go up 5-3 with four minutes to play.

Parker Lalonde brought Powell River back within a goal with two minutes left on the clock, but that was as close as the home team would come. Nanaimo added an empty net goal at 19:59 to make the final 6-4.

Kings outshot the Clippers 47-32. Attendance was 696.
