Powell River Horseshoe Pitching Club is getting ready to resume its activities.

A media release from the club indicates that horseshoe pitching is a social event that is affordable, fun for all family members, and played in the fresh air.

“All you need are horseshoes, and if you don’t have any, the club has extra shoes for you to try out your skills,” the release stated.

The horseshoe pitching pits are located outside the upper side of Powell River Recreation Complex. The club has a drop-in every Sunday morning and a league night on Thursday evenings. The drop-in season has started and will run until September. League play starts May 5 and runs until the end of August.

Adult membership is $45 for the season, according to the release, and if horseshoe pitchers have children between ages of six and 17, they can play for free.

Sunday mornings drop-in sessions are between 9 am and noon. Thursday evening league play is between 6 and 9 pm.
