Powell River Kings conclude BC Hockey League schedule

Club misses Coastal Conference playoff spot by three points

Powell River Kings will be on the sidelines when BC Hockey League (BCHL) playoffs begin later this week. The team was eliminated from postseason contention on Friday, March 29, with a loss to West Kelowna Warriors.

The following night, Adam Mendelson scored the final two goals of the 2023/2024 season for the Kings, one shorthanded and another at even strength, in a 6-2 road loss to Vernon Vipers. Zander Stewart and Owen Thomas had one assist each for the Kings, who outshot the hosts 35-25.

Cowichan Valley Capitals claimed the eighth and final spot in the BCHL Coastal Conference, finishing three points ahead of the ninth-place Kings.
