An offensive outburst in the second period was the difference in Powell River Kings’ 7-2 win over Victoria Grizzlies on Friday, November 18.

Parker Lalonde, Dylan Hewlett, Cameron Symons and Anthony Yu (twice) scored in the middle stanza for the Kings, who trailed the visiting Grizzlies 1-0 after 20 minutes. Lalonde’s tying goal came on a power play, while the other four tallies were at even strength.

Victoria showed signs of life with a second goal five minutes into the third period, but Powell River responded twice, with Lalonde’s second of the night just over a minute later, and Nic Porchetta’s power play goal with 10 minutes remaining in the game to make the final 7-2.

Kings outshot the Grizzlies 52-23. Attendance was 620.

The same two BC Hockey League (BCHL) teams meet again at Hap Parker Arena today (November 19). Game time is 5 pm.
