Powell River Kings suffer lopsided loss in Victoria

Grizzlies move 11 points clear of Kings in conference standings

Anthony Lucarelli was the only Powell River Kings’ player to find the back of the net in a loss to Victoria Grizzlies on Friday, February 4.

Victoria Grizzlies struck for a pair of goals in each period en route to a 6-1 win over Powell River Kings on Friday, February 3.

Anthony Lucarelli scored the lone goal for the visiting Kings at the Q Centre, the forward’s 12th of the BC Hockey League (BCHL) season. Cameron Symons picked up an assist on the play.

Victoria outshot Powell River 65-31. Attendance was 1,669.

Kings face Cowichan Valley Capitals tonight (February 4) in Duncan at 7 pm. Cowichan is last in the BCHL’s Coastal Conference with 19 points, 10 behind the seventh place Kings.

Nanaimo leads the nine-team Coastal Conference with 59 points. Victoria is tied for fifth with 40 points.

Penticton is the top team in Interior Conference standings with 70 points.
