The rematch between Peninsula Rusty Cranks and Powell River Rusty Nuts was played before an appreciative crowd at Hap Parker Arena on February 25.
The home team took an early lead on a goal by Dan Bourassa but the visitors answered quickly with two of their own. Ed Spreeuw tied the game before the Rusty Cranks pulled away for good with two more tallies.
Rob Crookshank scored to get Powell River close again, only to have the Peninsula skaters add two more to restore a three goal cushion. Crookshank added his second of the game but despite pulling their goalie for the extra attacker, the home squad couldn’t pull any closer, making the final a 6-4 Peninsula victory.
Rookies Randy Casparie and Greg Martin were the Rusty Nuts' co-players of the game while Brandon Sparks was solid in goal despite the defeat.
Rusty Cranks also won the first game in Sechelt in late January.
