BIG VICTORY: Powell River’s under-11 Queens hockey team enjoyed some time at Rathtrevor Beach in Parksville when they played Oceanside, beating them 12-1 for their 11th straight win.

Powell River U11 Queens hockey team remain undefeated with their 11th straight win in the BC female hockey circuit with a 12-1 victory in Oceanside this past weekend.

According to team spokesperson Elise Statham, it was a much-anticipated match because the last time the Queens faced off against Oceanside was November 2022, when the Queens lost to them in the finals of the Sooke Remembrance Day tournament.

“The Queens used this as ammunition, which was evident the moment they stepped on the ice,” stated Statham. “A new level of energy and camaraderie was displayed as the Queens worked together in their passing and communication. The end result was that goals were scored by eight different players, showing a true display of teamwork."

Queens will face-off against Nanaimo on December 2 at Cliff McNabb Arena.
