Powell River U15 Kings to host VIAHA semi-final

Cowichan Valley U15 Capitals visit Hap Parker Arena to determine slot in Vancouver Island championship series

Powell River U15 Kings are moving onto the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association (VIAHA) semi-finals following an 8-2 victory over U15 North Island Eagles at home on February 10.

Kooper Kozmeniuk recorded a hat-trick for the Kings, who, after a scoreless first period, led 5-1 going into period three. Connal Miller, Jackson Peters, Ryan Marshman, Jack Webber and Lucas Gruntman scored one goal each for the home team.

Kozmeniuk also set up a pair of goals, as did Keaton Brice, Webber and Gruntman. Marshman, Carson Laing and Carter McDowell had one assist each.

Powell River hosts Cowichan Valley U15 Capitals at Hap Parker Arena on Saturday, February 17, with the winner advancing to the VIAHA final series. Game time is 4 pm.
