From his knees, Powell River U18 rep team forward Braedyn Louie fired a shot toward the Sunshine Coast Blues net, which eluded the goaltender, tying the first game of the season for the home team at 3-3.

With his goaltender on the bench for an extra attacker, Braedyn Louie completed a comeback for Powell River Minor Hockey’s U18 rep team, blasting a shot into the Sunshine Coast Blues’ net in the dying minutes of a game at Hap Parker Arena on Saturday, September 10.

Powell River trailed 3-1 after forty minutes, but Liam Carroll cut the lead to a single goal in the third period, setting the stage for the late-game heroics by Louie.

Jeremy Pukesh scored to knot the game at one goal each after the visiting Blues opened the scoring in the first period.

The two teams meet again tomorrow (September 11) on the Sechelt Peninsula to complete a home-and-home series.
