Supporters of Powell River Villa Soccer Club have chosen goaltender Matt Liknes as the Vancouver Island Soccer League (VISL) club’s Supporters Player of the Year for the 2022/2023 season.
Liknes, seen above making a save during his team’s final match of the season versus Cowichan, led all VISL goaltenders in shutouts with five in 14 Division 1 games played.
Last season’s winner of the award, Niko Cristante, finished in a tie for second place with teammate Richard Murphy after the votes were counted.
