Struggles versus Nanaimo Clippers continue for Powell River Kings

Clippers win 5-1 on November 26; home and home series continues tonight at Hap Parker Arena

Nanaimo Clippers posted their fifth win in as many tries over Powell River Kings on Friday, November 26.

The BC Hockey League (BCHL) teams started the 2021/2022 season by meeting four straight times, with the Vancouver Island-based club coming out on top by scores of 6-2, 4-1, 8-1 and 3-2 in October.

After exchanging goals in the first period, Clippers continued that dominance last night, scoring three times in period two and once more in the third period for a 5-1 home-ice win.

Kings were outshot 36-22.

Anthony Lucarelli scored the lone goal for the visitors midway through the first period, his team-leading to seventh of the season. Eric Stinson picked up his first assist of the season on the play.

Attendance at Frank Crane Arena was 1,240.

Nanaimo is second in BCHL Coastal Division standings with 24 points, one point behind Langley. Powell River is seventh with 15 points,.

The two teams meet again tonight in Powell River. Game time at Hap Parker Arena is 7 pm.
