BC Ferries has cancelled the first two round-trip sailings from Comox to Powell River for Friday, January 10, due to adverse weather conditions.

According to a BC Ferries travel advisory, the 6:15 and 9:50 am Salish Eagle sailings departing Comox have been cancelled, as well as the scheduled return trips from Powell River at 8:05 and 11:50 am.

The safety of its passengers and crew is of primary importance to BC Ferries, according to the advisory.

“We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations,” the advisory stated. “We will resume service as soon as it is safe to do so. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of these cancellations.”
