City of Powell River has cordoned off the front of Powell River Public Library due to public safety issues with the building’s exterior brick façade.
A few pieces of brick have fallen off, resulting in a risk to the public, according to a media release at 4:15 pm on Wednesday, August 14.
The city has restricted access to a large area in front of the library while city crews who are on scene address the situation and determine a solution.
Access to the front entrance will be maintained but bicycle racks and benches are off limits.
