Police patrol: Powell River crime report

Powell River RCMP reported the following for November 8 to 14, 2018.

November 8; Joyce Avenue, 4800 block
At approximately 10:45 pm, police stopped a vehicle after observing that the driver was driving contrary to restrictions. The 17-year-old male driving the vehicle showed signs of impairment and a breath sample was obtained to determine his level his blood-alcohol concentration. The sample registered over the legal limit and a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day impound were issued under the Motor Vehicle Act.

November 9; Barnet Street, 7300 block
At approximately 10:06 am, police received a report of an assault that had taken place the previous night. At approximately 12:30 am, a vehicle struck a female walking on Barnet Street near Bowness Avenue, knocking her over. The driver of the vehicle then got out of the vehicle and kicked the female before driving away. The vehicle is described as a black minivan and the suspect is described as Caucasian, 20 to 30 years old with a medium-length brown beard. The victim did not sustain serious injuries as a result.

November 11; Westminster Street, 7000 block
At approximately 11:10 am, police received a report of a theft from a boat while it was docked at a marina. The door of the boat was forced open and a pair of binoculars was taken from inside. The theft occurred sometime between November 7 and November 11.
