Powell River RCMP reported the following for August 15 to 21, 2019.

August 16; Cranberry Street
At approximately 5:28 pm, police stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. The 78-year-old male driving the vehicle showed signs of impairment by alcohol and was advised he would need to provide a breath sample. The male would not provide a breath sample, so he was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound under the Motor Vehicle Act.

August 20; Joyce Avenue, 4400 block
At approximately 9:56 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance. One of the suspects, a 40-year-old male, was located a short time later. Police observed that the male had a prohibited weapon and he was arrested. A search was conducted of the male and a significant amount of drugs and money was located on him. He is currently facing charges of failing to comply with a probation order, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited device.
