Allan E. Dersch, February 15, 1928 - March 22, 2014
It is with sadness that we announce the death of our father, brother and friend at 86 years of age.
Allan was predeceased by his loving wife Alice on January 11, 2009 and two sons, Wilf (2002) and Lyle (2003). From a large family, he is survived by his sister Faye Carter of Edmonton, Alberta and his adopted daughter Wilma Doey of Salmon Arm, BC, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Allan was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. His work history involved ranching, mining, policeman, instructor of industrial first aid at Kelowna College and many years in the oilfields of Northern British Columbia as an instrument technician. He retired to Kelowna, later moving to the lovely shores of Powell River, an area he loved dearly.
Our deepest appreciation goes to Dr. Hobson, his long-time physician and friend. We also express appreciation to staff of Evergreen Extended Care Unit who cared for Allan so well.
We wish to mention and note the professional and caring support of Westcoast Funeral Services.
A memorial service was held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, March 29, followed by a tea, where Allan’s many friends gathered to share his life memories.

Glyn (Buck) Clutterbuck, May 13, 1926 - March 27, 2014
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved dad Glyn, with loved ones by his side. He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years Lillian, children Bill (Monique), Judy (Bob), Linda (Richie) and Shirley (Ron). Papa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jenn (Elliot), Karin (Chris), Steve (Courteney), Kristin (Dennis), Lillian, Miranda, Bryant and Darren. Glyn was also Great Papa to 12 great-grandchildren.
Dad immigrated to Powell River from Wales with his family at the age of one. Growing up in Cranberry and settling in Edgehill, he established many life-long friends. His family was the most important thing in his life. Dad had many talents. He could fix or build almost anything. He had a passion for the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, planting his garden or just fussing with his flowers.
Dad worked at different jobs. He worked a short time in the mill, in the logging industry and the rest of his working career at the municipality as superintendent of public works.
We will miss his quick whit, sense of humour, followed by a smile and a sparkle in his eye. Dad taught us all to be great parents.
We learned it from the best. We will miss you and always love you.
Raise a glass in his honour.
There will be no service by dad’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Westcoast Funeral Services.
God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you and whispered come to me.
With tearful eyes we watch you and saw you pass away, and
although we loved you dearly and could not make you stay,
A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove us, He only takes the best.
