Edward “Dean” Wolford, August 14, 1960 - April 14, 2011
It’s with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Dean. He was predeceased by his father John. He is survived by mother Mabel, sisters Denise, Bernadean (John), Rhonda (Barry), and brother John (Anna). Dean was loved by many nieces and nephews. A service will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 2 pm at Stubberfield Funeral Chapel with tea to follow. A celebration of Dean’s life will be held the same day at 4 pm at the Westview Hotel.
June Larson, April 7, 1926 - April 11, 2011
Mom passed away suddenly on Monday, April 11, just four days after celebrating her 85th birthday with family and friends.
June was born and raised in Vancouver. She waitressed at Hotel Vancouver as a teenager, putting herself through school to obtain her teaching degree. Her first job as a teacher was in Lund where she met and married our dad Elmer Larson (deceased in 1980).
They spent six years living up the coast at Rock Bay and Stuart Island and after having us three girls, returned to Lund to raise their family. Mom returned to work for the Powell River school board as a teacher’s assistant at age 40. After her retirement she moved to Campbell River to be closer to family. Mom made some good friends there and spent several years taking cruises and bus trips with the “Happy Wanderers.” She also enjoyed the wonderful women from her “TOPS” club who continued to keep in touch after she could no longer attend.
Mom instilled in us a sense of honesty and fair play. Her motto was “Do unto others kind and true, as you would have them do unto you.” Thanks for the great childhood mom!
There will be no service at her request but a family gathering will be held to plant a tree in her memory at the Lund property in the fall.
Stella Maria Moraal, April 3, 1961 - April 15, 2011
Stella passed away suddenly on April 15. She is survived by brothers Richard (Muriel), Johannes (Kathy), Arie (Cindy) and Ben, sisters Lani and Elsebeth (Wayne), nieces Julia, Maria, Syleena, nephew Thomas and many great nieces and nephews. Stella lived in Powell River for many years and during that time built many friendships. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 22 at 1 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Powell River and District United Way.
She will be sadly missed but remembered with love by all who knew her.
