Joan was happiest when with her family and by the water. She spent carefree childhood summers at Gillies Bay on Texada Island and later, she loved her homes at Douglas Bay and Palm Beach. Her children and grandchildren cherish memories of idyllic summers at the beach.
She was loved and will be missed. No service by request.
Keray Farrell, November 21, 1942 - April 15, 2014
Our much beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend has slipped anchor and set sails alone to horizons unseen. Skipper and mariner, boat builder, explorer and fisher, Keray travelled the Northwest Pacific coast working at logging camps, towing and salvaging, digging clams, picking oysters, beachcombing, visiting and helping friends. He knew where to find all the interesting free-thinking people and how to reach all the most magical hidden coves and beaches. He was our Captain and can never be replaced.
Keray leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him truly, his partner of 17 years Susan Foreman, his daughter Lee Bastock, her partner Rob and children Brice, Jasper, Riley and Olivia, his son Dave Farrell and children Dustin and Gavin, granddaughters Lilian Harding and Georgina Forshner, his brother Barrie Farrell and wife Li. Keray now joins his beloved daughter Kari-Ann Farrell, his ever thought of brother Jerry Farrell and his parents Allen and Sharie Farrell.
Please join us in celebrating Keray’s life with a barbeque picnic Saturday, May 10 from 2 - 4 pm at Palm Beach Park, rain or shine.
Here he lies where he longed to be.
Home is the sailor, home from the sea.
