The family of John Timoshyk sadly announce his passing.
He is survived by his wife Roberta of 63 years, children Michael (Mary), Bill (Kim), Tracy (Rod) Bryson and six grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Stephie and Joyce, and their families, of Winnipeg.
Born in Brody, Poland and raised in Winnipeg, John moved to Vancouver where he met Roberta. In 1948, he was hired by the Powell River Company and moved to Powell River. After 40 years, John and Roberta retired to Nanaimo, spending the next 21 years together until returning to Powell River in 2009.
An avid golfer, John was more than a good player, he was a student and teacher of the game. He could often be found at his workbench repairing and building golf clubs. When Christmas came, he morphed into Jolly St. Nicholas visiting children of friends and neighbours.
