Patricia Elizabeth Brown (née Salt) — April 2, 1932 - August 14, 2011
Patricia passed away on Sunday morning, August 14, at Powell River General Hospital. Patricia is survived by sister Philippa Veronica and her husband Allan of Powell River. Patricia was born in England, in Birkenhead, Cheshire. moved to Canada with Philippa and their mother May (née Davis) in November 1959. She met Allan in Vancouver where they married in May, 1970, and moved to Kingston, Ontario. They returned to BC in June 1992, and settled in Powell River. No service by request.
Mathieu Lefebvre -Masse
We are saddened to announce that on Sunday, July 31, 2011, Mathieu passed away unexpectedly at the age of 32 while doing something that he loved. Mathieu is deeply missed by his mother Diane Lefebvre, his father Richard Masse, his brother Francois-Xavier Lefebvre- Masse (Cynthia Pinel), his little ray of sunshine Danahée Bourguignon, his soul-brother Jonny Ferguson, his BC mothers Anne Ferguson and Cindy Koppen and many other cherished friends and family whose lives he has touched. He was a gracious, humble, eloquent, appreciative and considerate person who possessed the finer qualities that made him an outstanding individual. His positive influence on all of us in this world is a great loss. He was well known for finding the little patch of blue sky even during the darkest months of West Coast winters. There will be a memorial service held in Montréal on August 20, 2011, and another in Tofino in mid-September. The date and time will be announced shortly. Charles Oldale — June 11, 1913 – August 14, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles. He is survived by his very loving wife of 74 years Mary; sons Charlie (Andi), Tom (Barb) and Bob; daughter Betty-Ann (Bill); foster son Robert Yorke (Muriel); 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and greatgreat- grandchildren, nieces and friends. Charles loved his family and friends dearly, was an active member in the Powell River community for many years and he will be deeply missed. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, August 20, at 1 pm from the chapel at Stubberfield Funeral Home, 7221 Duncan Street. There will be a reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Powell River Branch.
John Remando — July 7, 1921 - July 5, 2011
We sadly announce the passing of our father John in Powell River. He was predeceased by his parents, all 11 siblings, his wife of 61 years Sophie in 2006, and his great-grandson Lane in 2010. He leaves to grieve three children, Rick (Elma), Saskatoon, SK, John Jr. (Leona), Sturgis, SK, and Candy (Bruce) Richman, Powell River, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves a special sister-in-law Natalie Remenda, many dear nieces and nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. John was born in Hyas, SK and became a grain farmer. In later years he spent winters in Port Kells, BC before retiring to Lake Cowichan, BC. In 2007, John moved to Olive Devaud Residence in Powell River where he spent three and a half happy years before being transferred to Evergreen Extended Care Unit for his last five months.
