The Yates family would like to invite the community of Powell River to join us to celebrate the life of Timothy James Stuart Yates who left us suddenly to be with "his Jesus.” The celebration will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 1:30 pm at the Town Centre Hotel, Banquet Hall with reception to follow.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Don died peacefully in hospital after a short fight with lung cancer. He leaves to grieve his beloved wife Lillian, son Bruce, daughter Sandra, stepson David, sister Kay, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Don was born in Powell River and was a long-time member of the Westview Flying Club. Flying was the second love of his life after his family.
No service by request. He will be sadly missed.
Betty Hayden Thornton, July 18, 1918 - December 5, 2011
Sadly, we announce the passing of our mother, our grandmother and our greatgrandmother. Betty is survived by her five children, Diane (Larry), Jane (Murray), Mary Leigh (Pat), Alex, and Anne, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Amazing, gracious and generous. She is already sorely missed.
A service will be held Sunday, December 11 at 2 pm at Powell River United Church. Tea to follow in the Trinity Hall.
