Bob (Robert Edward) Robinson
Bob passed away in Kamloops, BC on December 5, 2011, at the age of 82, surrounded by family. It
broke our hearts to let you go, but you did not go alone–part of us went with you.
Remembered with loving memories by his best friend and beloved wife Joyce; his children Bill (Fran), Bob (Annette), Brad and Cheryl (Kevin) Bourque. His grandchildren Stacey, Lindsay, Samantha, Julie, Morgan, Regan, Kyle, Katie and Justin will miss him greatly. Bob is predeceased by his brothers Don and Jack and sister Louise.
Born and raised in North Vancouver with his siblings, his surviving sisters Dorothy, Frances and Barbara have lost a favourite brother. Bob's passion was his family and his flying. A well-known float-plane pilot on the West Coast, he ended his career with Powell Air when he retired in 1991.
Your family loved you dearly and will miss you.
Donald Alan Butters, October 22, 1958 – November 30, 2011
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Alan Butters announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle on November 30, 2011.
Alan is survived by his father Tom (Lynn), his twin brother Ian (Vi), and sisters Kirsty (John) and Meg (Alan). He also leaves behind to mourn his loss, nieces and nephews Ryan, Allison, Ashley, David and Alicia. Alan was predeceased in 2002 by his beloved mother Margaret “Peg” Butters.
Alan was born in Camrose, Alberta, but the Butters family actually made their first home in Baker Lake, NWT, where he lived the first few years of his life, before making the long trek North of 60 to Inuvik. Alan would call Inuvik home for the next 20 years.
In the mid-1980s he moved “south” to live for a number of years in Slave Lake, Alberta, before heading west to the Pacific Ocean and the island of Texada, BC in 1991. He settled in the community of Gillies Bay and would spend the next 20 years there until his untimely death.
Alan will always be remembered for his sharp wit, irrepressible sense of humour, generous spirit, and his unfailing love of life. He will be forever held in the hearts of his family and many friends.
If we could have one lifetime wish
One dream that could come true
We’d ask with all our hearts
For yesterday and you.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held for Alan on Saturday, December 17, from 11 am – 2 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 2611 Legion Road, Van Anda, BC.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Alan’s name.
