Leslie Anthony Uher, September 22, 1922 - December 7, 2014

Leslie passed away peacefully at Powell River General Hospital. He was born in Louny, Czechoslovakia and came to Canada as a young man. He leaves behind nieces and nephews in the Czech Republic, as well as many friends in Canada and Europe.

Les was a gentleman and a scholar in many ways. He was a very private humble man who loved to travel the world. He had a deep love for art, photography, gardening, reading and nature. Leslie spent most of his working life as a contract accountant with his roots taking final hold on Texada Island.

Special thank you to Dr. Kevin Black and his staff at Texada Island Health Centre for all of their support, to Powell River General Hospital and their staff and Texada ambulance attendants.

At Leslie’s request there will be no service.

Robert (Bob) Harper

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Harper on Sunday, December 7, 2014. He was born Robert Godfrey Harper on August 13, 1939, in Powell River where he lived all his life.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years Doreen, his sons Rick (Meisha) and Craig, daughter Penny (Michael) and grandchildren Jaxon, Kassidy, Jacob, Haylee, Madison, Mackenzie and Murphy. Also grieving are his brothers Jack (Ann), Bill (Delora), Chuck (Mary Anne), Gordie (Marilyn) and Sharon Forslund (Ernie), the mother of his sons. He had many nieces and nephews and cousins and a lifetime of friends who he cared for deeply.

Robert was a diehard Dodgers fan, a loving grandfather, a loyal brother and friend who kept everyone happy with his wonderful sense of humour. Who will give us the pitchers and catchers report in January?

We would like to thank Dr. Jeff Lynskey for many years of care.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2 pm at Powell River Town Centre Hotel.
