Dorothy Hobbs, November 29, 1929 - December 8, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Mom, Dorothy Hobbs, in Evergreen Extended Care Unit.

Mom is survived by her children Rick Hobbs, Gayle (Bill) Evans, Susan (Norm) Evans and John (Blaire) Hobbs, her loving aunt Evelyn Reeves, her beloved grandchildren Leslie (Rob) Ius, Jason Evans, Curtis (Amber) Evans, Kelsey (Mark) Montgomery, Scott Evans and her great-grandson Kaden Kozmeniuk to whom she was Gramma Dot. Also left to mourn are her sisters June (Fred) Hutchinson and Gayle Ross, her sister-in-law Mary Downey and their families.

Mom’s nine-year battle with dementia is now over and she has left us to join her much loved husband Andy, her parents Jack and Flo Downey and her brother Jack who passed before her.

There are so many people to thank. Dr. Rossouw, you have been our rock. You kept us so well informed on her illness and we knew you were always there. Thank you. The staff at Olive Devaud and Evergreen Extended Care Unit were amazing. They welcomed Mom and loved her. So many hugs over the years. Sunshine Unit we love you all. Thank you. To all our friends and family who supported Mom and us on her long journey, thank you. We would have been lost without you.

There will be a memorial for Mom when the warmer weather comes, allowing relatives to come from out of town. The time, date and place will be announced in the Peak.

Thank you all for loving our Mama.
