Andrew Balzan, March 22, 1942 - November 29, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Balzan after battling cancer. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Gracie, children Carmen (Pat), Jesmond (Lori), five grandchildren Carleen, Kelsey, Mackenzie, Payton and Reid, and brothers and sisters and their families in Malta. He will also be missed by his in-laws, nieces and nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his father Carmelo and mother Josephine.
Andrew was born in Malta and worked in the dockyard until he immigrated to Canada in 1969. He worked at the mill until retirement in 1998. He was a family man who loved spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden with his flowers.
Andrew was a strong and courageous man right until the end of his life.
Prayers will be held on Friday, December 7 at 6 pm at the Church of the Assumption. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 1 pm also at the church.
Robert Trevisan, 1923 - 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Trevisan on November 29, 2012 with his family by his side.
Robert was predeceased by his beloved daughter Susan and an infant son Terry. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years Anita, son Dan (Dianne), daughters Janice (Greg), Jackie (Larry), Denise (Laurie), son-in-law Rob Milne, grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Robert was born in Powell River on December 24, 1923. He was raised in Powell River and worked in the Powell River mill for 43 years. He also served in The Canadian Army during WWII. He was an active athlete of many sports and was a member of the Powell River Golf Club.
Robert was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Everything he did was for the love of his family.
