Joyce Roseanne LaRue (née Gareau), January 23, 1945 - January 18, 2012
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Roseanne LaRue on January 18, 2012.
Joyce is survived by her sisters Bella (Ernie) Gauthier, Mary Wilson and Katie Cameron, many nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family and friends. We will miss her more deeply than we can express.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 4 from 1 - 4 pm at Community Living Place, 6831 Artaban Street.
Adelina Vallese
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Adelina. She was born in Bagnoli Del Trigno, Italy, on January 24, 1913, and passed away on January 26, 2012, at the age of 99.
She is predeceased by her husband Vitale in 1965, son Lorenzo in 2003 and grandson Robert in 1999. She is survived by daughters Gina (Rinaldo) Rossi and Pina Issighos, daughter-in-law Michelina Vallese, six grandchildren Achille, Adelina (Gary), Vito (Lorri), John, Maria (Mike) and Vittorio (Silvana), and 10 great-grandchildren Khenny, Venesa, Lorenzo, Joseph, Jordan, Marina, Mathew, Kaylee, Sebastian and Isabella.
Evening prayers to be held Wednesday, February 1 at 7 pm at the Church of the Assumption. Funeral mass and entombment to be held Thursday, February 2 at 10:30 am also at the Church of the Assumption. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Evergreen Extended Resident Council.
Agnes Silvester (Cameron), September 2, 1923 - January 29, 2012
Agnes grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and took her nurses training at The Royal Alexandra Hospital. After receiving her RN, she moved to Powell River for work, a place she had visited as a young girl. She met and married Ernie Silvester and they spent 65 happy years together.
Left behind to mourn are her husband Ernie, their children Bill (Angela), Don (Penny), Christine (Bill), Bob (Dot), Dave (Jackie), Joanne, Ernie (Kim) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brothers Bill (Mary), Walter (Bea), sisters Isobel, Margaret (George) and nieces and nephews.
Agnes was very involved with The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Meals on Wheels, and the Ladies Auxiliary of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 12:30 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164.
Alva Carnation (Larson) Forslund
Alva passed away peacefully on January 27, 2012 at the age of 94. She lived the last four years of her life at Olive Devaud Residence where she was cared for with compassion and kindness by the wonderful staff there.
Alva was born on February 20, 1917 at Stag Bay on Hernando Island and lived her entire life in the Powell River area. She enjoyed a wonderfully happy and successful life raising her family. She was a loving mother to daughters Margaret Sharp, Betty (Harold) Bond and son Ernie (Sharon). She was known as Grannie to everyone and was truly adored by her five generations of children, grandchildren, great- and great-greatgrandchildren, son and daughter in-law. She was predeceased by her dear husband Helge in 1985.
A family service will be held at a later date.
