June was born in Delburne, AB on June 12, 1929 and passed away in Powell River, BC on February 4, 2012 at the age of 82 years. She is survived by her loving husband Ralph, sister Lila Gray of Drumheller, AB, and many nieces and nephews.

Thora Kathleen Belyk (née Smith), January 2, 1930 - January 24, 2012
Thora peacefully passed away in Victoria BC. She was born in Courtenay and moved to Powell River with her husband Richard, who worked at the mill. Thora is survived by her four children Randy, Ken, Kathy (Peter) and Brenda (Nori), two sisters Hilda and Barbie, two brothers John and Buster, four grandchildren
Jasmine, Aisha, Kara and Haley, and four step-grandchildren Brian, Kristi, Matt and Jenni.
Family memorial to be held Tuesday, February 28 in Powell River.
Marie Phaneuf, 1922 - 2012
Marie lived in Van Anda from 1983 until her death. She enjoyed small town life and her friends. She loved gardening, birds and dogs.
She was born in Saskatchewan and lived in Manitoba and Nelson BC. She is survived by six children, 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to all the wonderful ladies who gave her home care for all those years, the Texada ambulance crew, Dr. Black and the nurses, and Powell River General Hospital and Evergreen Extended Care Unit staff.
There will be a family memorial service in Nelson on May 19.
Claude August Rivest, July 6, 1929 – February 7, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Claude. Claude was born in Amos, Quebec to Emanuel and Lydia Rivest.
He married Stephana Venne on October 14, 1950 and then moved his family to Powell River in May of 1965. He was a longstanding member of the Club Bon Accueil de Powell River.
He is survived by son Michel, daughters Elyane (Bruce), Sylvie (Paul) and Claudette; dear friend Stephana; brothers Patrick, Real, Gaston, Abel, Ernest and Yvon; sisters Gisele and Gabrielle; seven grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren; good friends Marcel and Terese Legault, as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.
We would like to thank all the people who helped Claude in his time of need at Powell River General Hospital; and especially Gisele and Abel for their continued patience.
There will be a celebration of life held on Wednesday, February 15 at 1 pm at Club Bon Accueil, 5110 Manson Avenue. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the foundation of your choice.
