Randall Forbes Pilgrim, September 9, 1958 - January 9, 2015
Randy passed away peacefully at home with his loving companion and best friend Irene by his side after a short but bravely fought battle with cancer.
Randy’s passions in life were snowshoeing, hiking, fishing the backcountry lakes of Powell River and the Interior, golf, darts, gardening and Monday night poker with his buds from Save-On-Foods. His career with Save-On-Foods spanned 22 years; he spent the last 13 years working in the produce department in Powell River, where he was highly respected by his co-workers and many customers.
Randy was predeceased by his half-sister Laura Lynn Atkinson and, most recently, his father Jim. He is survived by his mother and stepfather Irene and Burt Nickerson, sister Allison, nieces Morgan and Sidney as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins, all residing in Eastern Canada.
Randy will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, integrity and, most of all, his wonderful sense of humour.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
God’s Garden
God looked around His garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone
for part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Lost to Me
Lonely hours with aching heart, striving to forget.
Dreaming tho' we're far apart, of when we met.
I see again the stars above, the beauty of the night.
Hear your whispered words of love,
now gone and out of sight;
and the hush of twilight brings to me
the sacredness of memory.
In my heart a shrine for you, remains for ever more.
Love, everlasting, pure and true, you only I adore.
While life shall last, sad times pass on, memory will linger.
You will be gone, but the rising dawn will bring to me,
the sacredness of memory.
