Karen S. Thompson, November 11, 1952 - July 06, 2012
Karen passed away suddenly at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, AB surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Michael, daughter Shantel, granddaughter Devon and sister Patricia.
Karen moved to Powell River as a teenager in the 1960s and always considered it her hometown. She was predeceased by her parents John and Barbara Megahey. Karen had a great capacity for love, compassion and especially laughter. She will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her. Ronald John Rogers (Gallegos Kimola), January 5, 1973 - July 13, 2012
It is with the most profound sadness that we announce the sudden devastating passing of our dear son, brother, dad, and uncle, John. He was taken from us much too soon and will be greatly missed by mom June, sister Amber, son Myk (Emma), niece “baby girl” Kendra and nephew “little buddy” Layne.
John loved all kinds of sports especially hockey and his beloved Oilers, Devils and Canucks, in that order. He was a true friend and would lend a hand to anyone. John loved his cats, but especially “Dammit.”
John had a large family including five half sisters, Rose, Doreen, Dorothy, Clair and Amelia and many cousins and relatives. He will be sorely missed by everyone. Mom will miss our daily phone calls, laundry days and “Johnish.”
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 21 at 1 pm at Stubberfields Funeral Home.
