Barbara Kathleen Whalley, August 22, 1940 - July 12, 2011
It is with great sadness we announce that, after a long and courageous battle against cancer, Barbara passed away surrounded by love.
She was predeceased by four of her children: Michael (1967), Grant (2001), Duncan (2007) and Deborah (2007). She is survived by her remaining children and will be greatly missed by her daughters Susan (Bill) Swartz, five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; Barbara Polland, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; Kim Whalley, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sons Darcy (Crysta) Whalley, one grandchild, one great-grandchild; and Travis Knight plus three very special children that we hold in our hearts.
She will also be missed by her dear cousin Patricia Corbett, her Aunty Bink and two brothers Nelson (Rose) Lamb, three nieces and their families; and Gwian (Judy) Lamb, one niece and nephew and their families.
Also left to miss her forever are Petra Carter and family, Gary and Rhonda Brozer, Bill Caslake and Rod McLeod plus many dear and compassionate friends.
A celebration of her amazing beautiful life will be held on Monday, July 25 at 2 pm at the Kingdom Hall in Powell River.
Barbara lived her life selflessly and showered everyone she touched with love. She was incredibly strong and if ever you needed to find her all you had to do was listen for the laughter and follow it and there she would be.
Donations of hugs can be given to all in Barbara’s name.
We love you and will always have you in our hearts.
