Beppino (Pete) Cecconi, November 22, 1920 - July 27, 2013
Surrounded by his loving family, it is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father and Nonno.
Pete was born in Vissandone, Udine, Italy in 1920 where he lived and worked as a farmer. At 18 years old, he became a Carabinieri (Italian police). He immigrated to Powell River in 1950 at the age of 30 to work with his cousin Eddie as a bricklayer and then began his own lifetime career of building and contracting. He was an extremely hard worker and was very proud of all the homes he built, as well as his many other accomplishments. In 1957 he saw a photo of his future wife and began corresponding. After one year of writing letters he convinced her to come to Powell River and they married on February 8, 1958. Together they raised three children.
Pete had a devotion and love for all his four-legged friends over the years, most recently his little buddy “Oggy.”
He was predeceased by his mother Anna, his father Romano and brothers Gelindo and Carlo. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 55 years Anna, his three children Rob (Judy), Julie (Craig) and Nancy (Steve) and four grandsons Nick, Matt, Dylan and Dean.
Go build that skyscraper in the sky now, Dad. You will always be in our hearts.
Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 2 at 1 pm at Church of the Assumption. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.

Born in Timmins, Ontario, Joyce moved to Hedley, BC, in 1945. In 1951 she graduated from Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing and then worked at the Powell River hospital; a vocation she continued to involve herself in for many years. A gentle and kind person, Joyce was always concerned for others. She enjoyed travelling, loved flowers and attending local musical performances.
