One day Alex read an ad in a journal, requiring a chief technician in Powell River General Hospital, and after accepting the job he and his family emigrated to Canada. After eight months they missed their homeland and returned to Scotland. After a short stay they decided to return to Powell River, where Alex began working for the Mill in 1967 in the the Technical Department, where he worked until retirement in 1992. He enjoyed spending time with his kids camping, travelling, playing pool, and watching movies. He loved having a cold beer, listening to good music, and jam sessions. He also enjoyed many years of darts and shuffleboard, and was a member of the Moose and Legion. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Alex’s family would like to thank Dr. Rossouw, the nurses of the 4th floor, Loni, Davie, and the home care nurses. There will be no service by request.
