Doris Lillian Blackwell, April 12, 1924 - July 1, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends. Doris is survived by her children Roy (Lori), Albert (Shirley), Lorri (Vito), grandchildren Jamie (Heidi), Roy (Melissa), Venesa and Lorenzo, and great-grandchildren Sydney, Lyndon, Siena and Caleb. She is also survived by her brother Roy (Lorraine).
No service by request. A tea will be held on Saturday, July 7 at 1 pm at the Kiwanis Village Lounge, 4943 Kiwanis Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
Christopher Alan Annuka, December 30, 1957 - June 9, 2012
Chris was predeceased by his father Helmut and his brother Wayne. He will be missed but not forgotten by his mother Alice, sister Hazel (Co), brother Les (Liz). He loved and was very proud of his nieces and nephews Nicole, Tanya, Carrie, Michael and Jason.
We would like to thank his best friend Norm and his mother Jolene for the loving kindness, care and friendship given to our Chris over these many years.
Chris lived his life his way, loved children and animals and was very devoted to his mother. He had a nickname of The Grouch but if you knew Chris you knew his bark was worse than his bite.
Chris will be put to rest beside his father. No service by request.
Jack Pierre Tardif, January 6, 1942 - June 27, 2012
Jack passed away peacefully on the evening of June 27, after a short battle with brain cancer, surrounded by family and friends. Jack was born in Trois Riviere, Quebec, and moved with his family to Powell River when he was two years old. He spent his life living and working here, retiring from the mill in 2000 after 38 years’ service.
He was predeceased by his parents and his son Michael in 2002. He is survived by his wife Pat, son Mark (Ana), daughter Michele (Miles), stepdaughter Lyn (Steve), stepsons Dave, Sam (Kath), Casey (Selena), Rob (Virginia), grandchildren Kerry, Michael, Liam, Owen, Wes, Morgan, Sapphire, Taryn, Russell, Alisha, Jesse and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters Jacqueline, Rita, Huguette, Linda (Jeanil), Joyce, and one brother, Claude, as well as many nieces and nephews. He had many wonderful friends that were at his side for support during his illness. He treasured every visit.
There will be no service at his request, but there will be a gathering to remember him, at a later date. We will all miss him so much! In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to cancer research are greatly appreciated.
