Dorothy Elizabeth Taylor (née Egger) Dorothy passed away on June 3, 2015 in Powell River General Hospital. She was born in Nanaimo, BC, on May 15, 1919.

Dorothy passed away on June 3, 2015 in Powell River General Hospital. She was born in Nanaimo, BC, on May 15, 1919.

Dorothy leaves to mourn her loving husband Roger, her sister Winifred Peters of Burnaby, BC, and many loving extended family members and close friends.

Dorothy graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Victoria in 1942. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge and spent many contented hours sewing and reading. Dorothy loved the outdoors and enjoyed many wonderful camping trips.

A warm thank you to all the doctors and nurses for the wonderful care and attention she received. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Powell River General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 1 pm on Sat-urday, August 15 at Myrtle Point Golf Club.

Gone Fishing

John passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on June 4, 2015. John was born in Endeavour, Saskatchewan on October 17, 1938 to Stanley and Maggie. He worked on the family farm in Rockford, Saskatchewan then moved to Texada in 1961. He was a mechanic in the mines. He married Marita Gendron in August 1973.

After retiring Dad enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. John was a handyman who could fix almost anything. He enjoyed his time spent with family and friends. He was a quiet, gentle and caring man who was always there to lend a helping hand. He will be dearly missed by many.

John was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Maggie, sisters Ann, Emily and Angeline and brothers Mike and Bill. He is survived by sisters Mary, Fran, Olga, Tina and brothers Leo and Wally, his three children D’Arcy (Rhonda), Shawn (Angie) and Tedra (Mike). He had 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Sincere thanks to the staff at Evergreen Extended Care Unit and Willingdon Creek Village. Also special thanks to Dr. Burns for the excellent care of our Dad.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 13 at 4731 Redonda Avenue from 1 - 3 pm.
