Edith Emily Alton, October 30, 1909 - June 7, 2011

Edith, who was born and spent her early childhood years in Sydney, Australia, died peacefully at the age of 101 in the Powell River General Hospital, surrounded by people who loved her. Fiercely independent, she was in her own home until her final few days.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Bill, sister Alice and grandson Danny. Left to cherish  their memories are her children Sydney (Dan) Adamson, Judi (Joe) Taitand Paul (Juanita), grandchildren  Laurence, Kelli, Sherry, Janice, Deanna, Susan, Deborah and Rebekah, 18 greatgrandchildren and 10  great great-grandchildren. She was also loved and will be deeply missed by her adopted family Chuck and Olive Green, their children Scott, Kim, Sharleen, Kelly and their families.

A private family burial was held on Wednesday, June 15. There will be a memorial service in her honour on Saturday, June 25 at 1:30 pm from the Stubberfield Funeral Chapel.

We will remember her entertaining stories, kind heart and generous spirit and while we will surely miss her we are comforted in the knowledge that we were very lucky to have her for so long.
