Robert (Bob) Lightheart Bob passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Saturday, June 15, at the age of 75. He was born in Vancouver and was the older son of the late Genevieve (Jimmy) and Jack Lightheart.

Bob passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on Saturday, June 15, at the age of 75. He was born in Vancouver and was the older son of the late Genevieve (Jimmy) and Jack Lightheart. For the past seven years, Bob lived in Powell River.

Bob will be missed by his many friends and lovingly remembered by his brother Terry Lightheart. Bob was part of the creation of the Lightheart Foundation for Social Enterprise.

A private gathering will be planned at a later date. Thank you to Powell River General Hospital and the RCMP for their compassion.

Rest in peace, Bob.


Jack Maxted Metcalf, June 4, 1920 - June 13, 2013

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jack was predeceased by his wife Jean and daughter-in-law Ann Metcalf and is survived by sons Dan (Karen Hutton) and Vince (Diane), grandsons Brad and Jason Metcalf and Lucas Baillie and greatgranddaughter Paige Metcalf.

A special thank you to Dr. Nick White, the staff at Olive Devaud Residence and Evergreen Extended Care Unit. We would also like to thank all our family, friends and coworkers for their continued support throughout this difficult time.

No service by request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.


John Thomas Nadin

Born August 9, 1931 in Deal, Kent, England, John immigrated to Canada in 1952 where he worked as a Merchant Seaman on the East Coast, he then moved to Vancouver to join the newly established BC Ferries in 1960. John started as an Oiler and after 35 years ended as a Senior Chief Engineer at Saltery Bay in 1995.

John loved to fish, bird watch and was a member of the Westview Flying Club, giving him 20 years of enjoyment.

In 1954 John married Edith, his wife of 59 years, and is survived by her and sons John Junior and Ronald (Trish), daughter Laura (Bill) of Kamloops and grandchildren Marissa, Ashley, MacKenzee, Bailee and Chase.

A family celebration of life will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
