Pamela Dowding (Jaques), April 8, 1946 - June 18, 2011
Our beautiful Pamela passed away on June 18 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. She was surrounded by her loving daughters Tina (James), Kelly (Darrin), Sarah (Brent), and her devoted husband Peter. Also left to miss her and remember her warmly are her sisters Pauline, Dorothy and brother Robert, grandchildren India Rose, Ivy May, Jacob Andrew, Abigail Lee, nephew Laurie, nieces Debbie, Kelly, Auntie Edna in Australia, Peter’s sons Tom (Jenny) and Laurence, as well as many other friends in Powell River and Victoria.
Pam was born in Liverpool, England, in 1946 and immigrated with her late husband Patrick Madden to Canada in 1967. She was a very supportive person who saw the bright side of things and thought of others before herself. She had a wonderful sense of humour and knew how to make people feel welcome. She planted flowers in every garden of every place she lived and always made her house a warm and loving home.
We could not have asked for a better Mother, Wife, Sister, Auntie, Nana, Pammy and Friend.
A heartfelt thank you to all of Pam’s empathetic doctors, nurses, lab technicians and the hospice staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital and thank you to the first responders and ambulance staff, you are all heroes.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 25 at 2 pm at the High Point Community Church, 940 Fullerton Avenue, in Victoria, BC.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Myeloma Canada, or a cancer charity of your choice.
