Gordon Coupland, November 29, 1926 - February 23, 2015
Gordon Coupland, long-time resident of Blubber Bay, Van Anda and Gillies Bay, passed away in Courtenay shortly after midnight on Monday, the 23rd of February, 2015.
He was surrounded in love by his daughter Dianne, and in spirit by son Malcolm (Grace-Anne) and his extended families. Gordon survived his loves Mary Gray Williamson (1975) and Beryl Grace Pitt (2011).
Dad believed in love of family, harmony with nature, community spirit and a strong work ethic.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to his caregivers at Casa Loma, St. Joseph’s Transitional Care Unit and 3rd Floor Nursing Staff, the Comox Valley Seniors’ Village, and to Doctor Tammy Williams.
His passing was in comfort and with dignity.
Donations to the Texada Medical Clinic or animal rescue organizations would honour his memory.
A celebration of his life will be held this summer on Texada Island.

Rose Catherine Andersen, October 17, 1922 - March 1, 2015
Rose was predeceased by her husband Red in 2002. She is survived by her son Ted and grandson Jamie, two sisters Kay and Ann, brother Jack (Joy), brother-in-law Bert (Vivian) Weaver and several nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff for their care of Ma during her stay in hospital.
Service to be held Thursday, March 5, at 10:30 am at Church of the Assumption, followed by a reception in St. Joseph’s Hall.
Arthur Edmond Drader, March 17, 1924 - February 25, 2015
Art Drader passed away at the age of 90 in the tender care of staff at Olive Devaud Residence. He was a great man, a loving husband, father and grandfather, world traveller, teacher, hard worker, builder and fixer of pretty much anything.
Art was loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by wife Anne, brother Wesley, children Ellen Nicholson (Bill Martinuk), Phyllis Straathof and Randal (Meralon) Drader, grandchildren Wendy (Darren) Karpuik, Teresa (Elliot) Drew, Nathaniel Straathof (Jackie Wiles), Silas Straathof (Gen Burdett) and Brandan Drader, great-grandchildren Holly Karpuik, Ben Karpuik, Nadia Straathof and many nieces and nephews.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. A celebration of Art’s life will be held in late spring.
