Robert Wayne Goodburn, March 25, 1955 - April 30, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Wayne Goodburn. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 11 am upstairs at the Carlson Community Club.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Wayne Goodburn.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 11 am upstairs at the Carlson Community Club. Instead of flowers, please feel free to donate to the BC Cancer Foundation, a cause he truly believed in and supported.


Chuck Boisvert

Chuck passed away suddenly in Bonnyville, AB on April 15, 2013 at the age of 54.

A celebration of life will be held in Powell River on Saturday, May 11 from 1 to 4 pm at the Town Centre Hotel, 4660 Joyce Avenue.

Memorial tributes in memory of Chuck may be sent to the BC Children’s Hospital, 4480 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC V6H 3N1.


Wayne Leonard Amundsen, December 2, 1953 - April 27, 2013

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wayne at the age of 59. Born in Powell River, he was the oldest of three boys.

In his early years Wayne left home at the age of 16 with best friend Jack Cade and worked as a deckhand on the David and Michael Soloman paper ships. Traveling to areas such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.

When he returned, the stories he told about their travels and tribulations were many. He moved to Fernie, BC to work in the coal mines but eventually returned home to Powell River to begin his career in logging.

Wayne “Little Dee” loved to spend time with his younger brother Randy “Skid,” fishing and hunting in surrounding lakes, mountains and the ocean areas of Powell River.

He is predeceased by his parents Leonard and Margaret Amundsen and his companion Lisa Shelton, and lovingly remembered by his sons Derek and Brian (Petra), grandchildren Daemon and Mykaila, brothers Gary (Lola) and Randy (Tania), many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Toole for his care over the many years and Dr. Meyer and Dr. Lee for their care and support. A huge thank you to the amazing nurses and hospice workers who cared for Wayne with such kindness, dignity and respect in his final days. There are not enough words to thank you, each and every one of you.

John Stockley, July 29, 1946 – May 7, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, son, brother and uncle. John is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Genevieve, mother Jeanette Stockley, twin sister Christine (Brian) Hill, brother Pleamon (Karen) Stockley, sister Hallie Shears, brothers-in-law Glen (Krista), Jack (Linda), Sandy, Larry (Sherry), sisters-in-law Joyce (Maurice), Marie (Tom), Diana (Rick) and Pat. John is also survived by his nieces Suzette (Joe) Psaila, Selena Stockley (Paul), nephew Brian Small, lifelong friends Bill (Marie) Parsley and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada.

John was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and moved to BC in 1969 where he worked for many years in the forest industry. John was a very loving and thoughtful man who deeply loved his family, friends, fishing and trips to the casino. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke or Kidney foundations would be greatly appreciated. A small private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at a later date.

Gone on a long fishing trip…


Ann Pearsall

Passed away peacefully at the Evergreen Extended Care Facility Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was predeceased by her daughter Patricia in 1972 and her husband Jack in 1982. Ann will be missed by her daughters Janet Welsh, Susan (Keith) Perry and son John, grandsons Mason, Andrew, Curtis Welsh, Jonathon and Alexander Perry; her brother Don (Valerie) Purdie of North Vancouver.

Ann grew up in Calgary, Alberta and completed her nursing training at the Calgary General Hospital receiving her RN. She worked in the OR at the Calgary General for a year before moving to Vancouver where she completed her Public Health training at UBC.

Ann moved to Powell River in the early 1950s to work as a public health nurse. Shortly after her arrival she met and married her husband Jack and together they raised their family.

No service by request. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Extended Care for the excellent care that Ann received.


Rhoda Beatrice (Hatch) Auline, August 22, 1923 - April 25, 2013

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt and friend Rhoda Auline. Rhoda was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years Chuck on February 20, 2010 and many other family members and friends.

Mom was born at home in Powell River to her parents Harry and Beatrice Hatch and will be forever remembered by her sister Margaret (Ron) McGinnis, loving children Sharon (Babe) Piccinin, David (Susan) Auline, Deb (Dave) Brown, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends.

Always a very loving, thoughtful, giving lady, she kept busy in many organizations and especially loved her family and many trips to the casino.

A special thank you to her friend Trudy for being with mom when she needed her.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to a charity of your choice.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 18 from 1 to 3 pm at Powell River United Church in the Trinity Hall.
