Corinne Alice Lanteigne, February 10, 1935 - May 1, 2014

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful mother. She died peacefully, with her loved ones at her side.

Corinne was born in Toronto, ON, to Norman and Kate Ede. She resided for many years in Oshawa, dedicating her life to raising eight children, including two sets of twins. During the children’s growing years, she was famous for her baked apple dumplings and homemade breads. If you happened to visit on baking day, you never left hungry. Every Sunday was a family day including a visit from grandparents. After enjoying one of mom’s delicious meals, we all relaxed to watch The Wonderful World of Disney on television. Many happy memories we all cherish and keep forever.

In the 1970s, Corinne moved with her family to Powell River, following her parents’ move two years previous.

She is survived by her children CarolAnn Shemming (Kellar), Brian Kellar, Brenda Kellar, Daniel Lanteigne, Gregory (Linda) Lanteigne, Susanne Lanteigne, Jacqueline (Hugo) Desrochers (Lanteigne) and Corinne Barnes (Lanteigne), her grandchildren John, Laura, Michael, Jennifer, Melissa, Dwayne, Devin, Darnel, Pamela, Michael J, Ashlynn, Alyssa, Ryley, Sydney, Stephanie, Tristan, Kyle, Carlee, Claudia, Braxten and many beautiful great-grandchildren. Mom also leaves behind her 13-year-old dog (now adopted) Emily.

We wish to thank staff who took extra time, showing nurturing care to mom, making it so much easier for all. Times are stressful in a hospital setting these days, especially with all the health care system cutbacks. We appreciate you heroes, BIG TIME! Thank you for Dr. Danielle Marentette, Powell River, Dr. Kevin Swanson, Comox and Powell River’s Medicine Shoppe owner Dirk De Villiers for his wisdom in naturopathic choices.

A celebration of Corinne’s life will be held at a later date to be announced by family. Please consider a donation to the BC SPCA, Powell River branch, 7558 Duncan Street, V8A 1W5.

Arrangements entrusted to Comox Valley Funeral Home, Courtenay, BC, 250.334.0707.
