Ted Manyk
Ted was born September 12, 1930. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born in Toronto, Ontario where he met his wife Ann of 64-plus years. He is survived and missed by his four children Bob, Dan, Debbie and Monica, six grandchildren Brent, Craig, Melissa, Alecia, Shamane and Britney as well as seven great-grandchildren, his sisters Helena and Irene, his many cherished friends and most important, the love of his life Ann.
As owners of Ruby Lake Resort, Museum Inn and then later the “legendary” Frontier Caberet, dad and mom made their 40 years in Powell River memorable, before relocating to Courtenay, BC.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Dad will be truly missed.
Della Lynn Vogl, April 3, 1954 – May 5, 2015
Too young, Della has left us. She is survived by her mother June Vogl of Powell River, her sister Karen Pinton (Thomas) of White Rock, niece Ryley Pinton, stepnephew Matthew Pinton (Krystal) and great-grandnephew Carter. Della is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and oh so many friends. She was predeceased by her father, Bud Vogl, in 1998.
Della was born in Rossland, BC and three months later moved to Powell River where she grew up and graduated from Max Cameron Secondary School in 1971. She moved to Victoria for two years, then travelled abroad for one year after which she moved to Vancouver and earned her diploma as a Food Service Supervisor. Della worked in three different hospitals before settling into her career at Burnaby Hospital where she was recognized for 30 years of service.
Della loved to travel and managed to see most of this world. She also enjoyed her outings with the Purple Pumps of the Red Hat Society. Her positive outlook was amazing considering the progression of a debilitating neuromuscular disease.
As Della did not want a formal service, a celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 15 from 2 - 5 pm at 14909 32nd Avenue, South Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Della’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1404 West Broadway, 7th Floor, Vancouver, BC, V6H 1H6.
