Norah May Harrison (née Husband), September 9, 1929 – October 20, 2013 Norah passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Peachland, BC, after a day of gardening and visiting with friends.

Norah passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Peachland, BC, after a day of gardening and visiting with friends. She is survived by her children May, Clifford (Terry), Bryan (Mary), Richard (Susan), Blaine (Terri), Kevin and Kathy, 15 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Norah was born in Moose Jaw, SK and moved to Armstrong, BC, before moving to Powell River in 1996 where she enjoyed concerts and cards with the seniors and gardening. In 2012 she moved to Peachland to live with her son Blaine and his family.

Norah brought passion and enthusiasm to everything she did, whether it was business, travel, gardening or time spent with her family and friends.

A celebration of Norah’s life was held in Peachland on November 9, 2013.


Jacqueline Marie Dilemn Mullin, May 20, 1927 - November 10, 2013

Born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Jacqueline passed away in Nanaimo, BC at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her children Tracy (Graeme) MacKinnon of New Westminster, Ed (Debbie) of Powell River and Andrea (Don) MacIver of Parksville, brother Hank (Elsie) Angers of Thunder Bay, ON, and many other relatives and friends and especially her beloved Lucky. Jacqueline was predeceased by her loving husband Joe in 1993. She was also predeceased by her sisters Andrea Sullivan and Jeanette MacGillivary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 16 at Church of the Assumption. Prayers will be said Friday, November 15 at 7 pm also from Assumption.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon if desired.

Mary-Lynn (née Mullen) Jacques

Mary-Lynn Jacques was born in Mission, BC, and died at Comox Valley Seniors residence after a long illness. She is predeceased by her father Robert Patrick Mullen and her mother Mary Mullen (née Moisier) and is survived by Peter, her loving husband of 45 years, son Quinn Robert (Jill) of Calgary, daughter Corry Marla of Vancouver, grandchildren Angelique, Genvieve, Brendan William and Keltie Marie. Mary-Lynn is also survived by two sisters J ackie of Qualicum Beach and Kelly of Nanaimo.

Mary-Lynn was the “unpaid second man” for her husband in many of the remote RCMP detachments of the territories and Vancouver Island. She always had his back.

Elsie Alberta Lorch, August 26, 1922 – November 5, 2013

Elsie passed away peacefully at Greenwoods Eldercare Society on Salt Spring Island where she had been a resident for three years. She was predeceased by her husband Dan Lorch in 1987. She is survived by her sister Betty Lavender of Winnipeg, her sons Rick (Anita) and Jeffrey (Barb), daughter Cathie Newman (Cid), grandsons Justin, Nathan, Michael, Jason and very close friends Shirley Legary of Winnipeg and Georgia Trousdale of Vancouver.

Elsie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the third child of Charles and Sarah Alberta Lavender. She had a happy childhood making many life-long friends. She met Dan in Winnipeg and after the war, where Dan served in the RCAF, they married and moved to Vancouver then North Vancouver to raise their family. Once her three children were in school Elsie fostered 21 babies for the Children's Aid Society as well as doing volunteer church work and helping the disabled.

When retirement finally came Elsie and Dan moved to Lang Bay. Although Dan's time there was short Elsie continued to live there until her 80th birthday when she moved to Salt Spring Island.

The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Greenwoods, the staff at Lady Minto Hospital, Dr. Woodley and the late Dr Berg. No service by request.
