James Arthur "Jimmy" Statham, August 24, 1939 - November 8, 2012

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Jimmy (Papa), predeceased by his parents Alfred and Zubah, in-laws Joe and Olga, sister-in-law Susan, brother-in-law Godfrey and nephew Jeff.

His legacy of love includes his wife of 51 years Antida Statham (née Tanti), sons Fred (Caron) and Ken (Debbie), grandchildren Adam (Chris), Aaron, Ashlin (Adam), Joshua (Elise), Mallory (Matthew), great- grandchildren Kaleb, Elijah, Jacob, and one soon to arrive, siblings Loretta (Wilmer) Biffard, Margaret (Rod) Keech, Alan (Pauline) Statham and Cheryl (Bud) Smith, generations of cousins, nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Born and raised in Powell River, Jimmy “Hoseclamp” was a mechanic in Stillwater Division and at the Powell River mill. Whether swimming at “Jasper Beach” below his “Ninth Street” childhood home (now Jasper Street), up the lake at Art’s cabin, or on the ocean in his 1965 Herston Glasscraft boat, Papa’s fondest memories were around water but always about people. He demonstrated his love in action, spending his retirement “on call” to all who knew him without asking a thing in return.

After a 17-year battle with cancer, Papa passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Papa shaped our family and was the glue that bound us all together. May we strive to emulate his example of selfless love until we are reunited in glory.

Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 1 pm at Westview Baptist Church. Donations to the local Joseph Agius Hospice Suite gratefully accepted by the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society at 604.485.8488.

Thomas (Tom) Oscar Ahola, June 7, 1950 - November 5, 2012

Elvis Has Left The Building
