Mary Star, February 9, 1931 - November 12, 2013
Mary enjoyed life to the fullest and was an exceptional bowler. She resided in Powell River for the past 40 years. Mary will be dearly missed her her friends at Crofton House, the Bloomquist family and all who knew her in Powell River.
Mary leaves behind a brother Timothy in Bella Bella and relatives in Kitimat Village. Services will be held at a future date in Kitimat Village. Many thanks to her wonderful caregivers who showered her with love and attention.
Celebration of life will be held at Community Living Place on Wednesday, November 27 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Refreshments will be served. All friends welcome.
Mary Christine Sheldon (née Formby)
We mourn the passing of our mother Mary who lost her courageous battle to cancer on November 19, 2013.
She was born in Powell River on May 7, 1934 and was predeceased by her loving husband Tom in 2004. Mom is survived by her brother Peter (Bonnie), seven children Ken, Tom (Sylvia), Brenda (Glenn), Rick (Marjorie), Frank (Janice), Robyn and Ryan (Elizabeth), 12 grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mom worked as a guard for the RCMP for many years and then as a clerk at the provincial court house. She so looked forward to her weekly stroke club meeting and her crib club, so many thanks to all the crib ladies who went to her house so she could play. Our undying gratitude to Joyce and Ray Osmond for their love and friendship of both mom and dad. Special thanks to Dr. Barrie McDonald and all the fourth floor nurses and staff for your care and compassion.
A celebration of life for mom will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 1 pm at Carlson Community Club. Flowers gratefully declined, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
