John (Jack) Walter Clydesdale, May 1, 1930 - October 28, 2014
Jack passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in North Burnaby and moved to Powell River in October 1951.
Before arriving in Powell River and working in our mill for 40 years as a pipe-fitter, Jack had worked at Cedar Cove Sash & Doors in Burnaby, which inspired his woodworking hobby. He enjoyed making many beautiful projects over the last 50 years in his workshop.
Another passion Jack had with his wife Betty was boating up the coast in Desolation Sound in their boat The Binadac where they spent treasured days with their family and friends. Jack and Betty travelled to many destinations before they found their favourite place in Mazatlan, where they spent the winter months for the last 19 years.
Jack was predeceased by his son Iwan in 1995 and is survived by his loving family, wife Betty, daughter Darlene (Al) of Powell River, grandchildren Scott (Lisa) of Port Alberni, Kelly (Tara) of Port Alberni, Joelle (Nathan) of Dawson Creek and Alan (Jen) of Powell River, great-grandchildren Shelby, Alisa, Tristan, Tanner, Jonathan, Alexander and Aiden and his sisters June and Alice of Langley.
Thank you to Dr. Bruce Hobson and the home nursing care for their support and kindness during his brave battle with cancer.
No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Powell River General Hospital Foundation.
