Norman Wallace (Wally) McEachren, July 17, 1925 - October 6, 2014
Wally was born in Port Alberni, BC at a weight of just over two pounds (the smallest baby to have ever survived at that time). He was the youngest of seven children. Wally left Port Alberni at the age of 15 to attend Bible College. From college he joined the Canadian Navy as a Sonar Operator and served in the North Atlantic on convoy duty. He met his wife, June, as a teenager in Port Alberni and they married in 1948. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year.
Wally was predeceased by his eldest son Rod McEachren in 2004 and is survived by his wife June, son Graeme (Dolly) of Powell River, granddaughters Sasha (Travers) of Victoria and Phaedra of Vancouver, great-grandson Mateo and daughter-in-law Suzanne McEachren of Port Alberni.
A celebration of Wally's life will be held on Saturday, October 25 at 1:30 pm at Westview Baptist Church. Social and tea to follow service at the church. Online condolences can be sent to Westcoast Funeral Services.
