Mary Anne Pellatt, 1946 - 2014
It is with the greatest sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Anne after a long illness. She was my wife and trueblue lover for 42 short years, as well as a devoted mother to our son Jacob Krauss and, more recently, to Jacob’s loving wife Jamie Krauss.
The long-awaited birth of her beautiful granddaughter, Sophia Anne Krauss, gave Mary Anne great joy and a brilliant smile whenever they played together. She is survived by her cousins, aunts, uncles and good friends who loved her unconditionally as she loved us all.
Her passing has left us all with a deep wound that will never heal, but if there is another journey to take after this life, Mary Anne will surely take the high road.
We miss you terribly,
Eugene Krauss
Wayne Daryl (Abe) Bryant, August 8, 1951 - September 1, 2014
Wayne passed away peacefully at Powell River General Hospital after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer. He leaves to mourn his Mom and Dad, Al and Joan; his brother John; his four children Miranda, Allyson, Andrew and Ryan and three grandchildren.
We would like to thank Dr. White and Dr. Hoffert, fourth floor nurses, hospice and especially Phyllis and Barry Hay for all of the care and support.
No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
River of Tears (written for Abe by Ricky Fehr).
These words are my tears that I now give to you
I have the faith you’ll know what to do
Hold your head high as you walk through the door
Because all the tears cried are accounted for.
There’s now a stream that’s started to flow
And it grows larger from people you know
And when you feel it’s your time to part
This river of tears will help heal a heart.
Believe there is something, a happy place,
We will remember, your smiling face.
If this grey cloud, could have a silver lining
We would watch the night sky for a new star shining.
Captain Gilbert (Skip) Ralph Fair
With great sadness, the family would like to announce the passing of Captain Gilbert (Skip) Fair on Sunday, September 7, 2014. Born to Martha and John Fair on August 5, 1939, in Edmonton, AB, Skip lived his life on the west coast of British Columbia. At age 13, he began his career on the tugboats working his way up to captain with North Arm Transportation. As a tugboat captain, he discovered and developed a love for working and sailing up and down the BC coast, visiting 100s of locations throughout his career. Through his life, he shared his time between the ocean and his home in Lund, BC with his wife Theresa and their family.
Skip is leaving behind his loving wife of 50 years, Theresa, his children Doug (Darlene), Sally (Mike), Laurie (Rick), Rick (Pinky), Kelly (Michelle), Karen, and Skip Jr. He will be missed dearly by his brothers, Al and Don Bolton, his many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Skip's sense of humour will be remembered by the community of Lund, as well as his extended family, co-workers and friends.
Skip's family would like to thank Dr Andreae and all of the wonderful people who helped care for him in the last years of his life.
Skip will be honoured at a celebration of life taking place October 4, 2014 anytime between 2-4 pm at the Lund Hotel, where he went to get “the mail”.
