Kathryn Ann Corbett, May 17, 1947 - August 29, 2014

Kathy passed away peacefully at Powell River General Hospital with family members by her bedside, after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Kathy was born in Kimberley, BC, and several years later the Corbett family moved to Powell River in 1950. Kathy graduated from Max Cameron High School in 1965, then attended Simon Fraser University. After living in Germany for several years, she returned to Canada to live in Ottawa before moving to Vancouver, where she continued to raise her children Kim and Shawn and continued her career in the banking industry. After retiring as a branch manager she returned to Powell River, where she spent her last years tutoring, golfing, travelling, reconnecting with old friends, making new ones and walking Inland Lake trail with her brother.

Predeceased by her parents Jack and Patricia Corbett, Kathy is survived by husband Butch Harrold, her children Shawn (Erin) Sarson and Kim (Mel) Sarson and her brother Jake Corbett. Other relatives include Aunt Norma Corbett, cousins Debbie (Bob) Corbett Davis, Gord (Maureen) Mattson and Barb (Jim) Mattson McKinley.

No service by request. In lieu of flowers donations in Kathy's memory may be made to the Oncology Unit at Powell River General Hospital, 5000 Joyce Avenue, Powell River, BC, V8A 5R3. (Thank you, for Kathy.)

Stephen (Steve) Frederick Ervington

Our dear Steve passed away peacefully at home “on the farm” on August 21 surrounded by his wife and children. Steve was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on September 29, 1944, to Dorothy and Walt Ervington. He moved to Lund, BC in 1973. There he raised his children and built his beautiful home. Throughout his life he pursued his artistic and creative hobbies.

He dearly loved his wife of 42 years Juliet, his son Lucien (Robyn), daughter Katie and grandchildren Sophia and Leif.

Steve loved engaging with people. He was a loyal, caring friend and was devoted to helping his friends and community. As a social worker he was committed to making sure the people he served had full and inclusive lives. Steve loved to travel the world and explore the local wilderness. Most of all he loved to play, laugh and have fun in whatever he did.

A celebration of Steve’s very illustrious life will be held on Saturday, September 13, starting at 2 pm at the Italian Hall in Wildwood. A potluck meal will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lund Community Club and/or Powell River Parks and Wilderness Society (PR PAWS).
