Letter: British Columbia is less super and less natural today

Grizzly 'suffered an entirely preventable, human-caused, horrific death'

A Texada Island resident took this photo near their farm of what was believed to be the paw print of a grizzly bear after its arrival on the island in May.

Deeply rooted gratitude goes out to every single person who wholeheartedly supported translocating the lone, young male grizzly bear on Texada Island, who captured our hearts and imagination [“Texada Island grizzly found dead, days before province planned to relocate it,” July 15].

Our provincial government intentionally chose to prioritize its steadfast refusal to set a precedent by moving him a third time. Rather than realize the very real possibility of him living a rich full life, he suffered an entirely preventable, human-caused, horrific death.

Today British Columbia is less super and less natural. What is the point of having our provincial government represent us, when they don't represent the will of the people?
